Princeton Students to Vote on Marriage Equality

November 21, 2005

PRINCETON—Princeton University students will vote next month on a referendum to join with the Princeton Justice Project in filing an amicus brief in the New Jersey marriage suit.

After 90 minutes of debate, the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) voted 11-10 to submit the question to the student body in December. The question, to be included in next month's student elections, is Shall the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) be directed to sign on to the amicus brief submitted by the Princeton Justice Project on behalf of the plaintiffs in Lewis v. Harris, same-sex couples seeking to marry in New Jersey?.
