NJ Cop Sues Washington Township
November 22, 2005
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP—After five years of on-the-job harassment, officer Michael Kurz got tired of the homophobic comments and insults he recieved after he came out. On November 21, he decided to fight back, filing an employment discrimination suit against the Washington Township police department.
Kurz, who has been with the police force in this South Jersey community for 10 years, had reported the abuse to his supervisors, but nothing was done to stop it while an internal investigation continued for over seven months.
